  • Central license - It is a mandatory license certificate for all food businesses that exceed an Annual Turnover of 20 crores and indulge in the import and export of food products into multiple States for large-scale food businesses.

For the agenda of food safety in India the FSSAI Act 2006, provides a legal framework under the Government of India. All food business operators must acquire an FSSAI registration license to ensure production storage and sales of food. 

  

FSSAI registration process in Arunachal Pradesh 

It is the mandatory process for all FBOs to follow to acquire an online FSSAI registration license. It is accessible on the government portal. 


  • Account Creation - The government has provided an online portal as the Food Safety and Compliance System FoScoS website. Here the FBOs can create their account for the registration. 

  • Application submission - Applicant needs to fill out all the information regarding the operator and the food business completely and accurately. Which should include name, address, type of business, annual turnover, etc. Also based on the turnover the applicant needs to select the category of registration. 

  • Document upload - All the necessary documents are required to be uploaded with the application forms in a particular format making sure that all the documents are certified and legible. 

  • Fee payment - The operator needs to pay the registration fee of Rs 100 through the online gateway of the FoScoS portal. The fees can be varied depending on the category of registration. 

  •  Application Review - After the successful submission of the Application Form with all the documents needed the FSSAI authorities in Arunachal Pradesh conduct a review and inspection on the premise of business to make sure that all the information provided is accurate and goes with the guidelines of FSSAI. 

  • Certificate issuance - After the successful inspection and verification the Operator receives an FSSAI registration certificate. The certificate contains a Unique 14-digit FSSAI license number which is mandatory to be displayed on the business premises. 

  

Documents required for FSSAI registration

  • Proof of Identity & Address- In terms of an Aadhar card, PAN card, driving license, or voter ID card. 

  • Proof of Business Location - Like Legal Agreement, Lease Papers Property Deed, or utility bills. 

  • Business Plan -A brief outline document that gives all the details about the business, its management, future ideas, and disaster management points. 

  • Form B - Mandatory Form required for Businesses involved in Manufacturing, Processing, and Packaging of specific food products.

After acquiring the FSSAI license FBOs should maintain compliance with food safety regulations even after officials' inspections after the registration process. 


  • Maintaining Hygiene - Cleanliness should be the priority in maintaining, Handling, Preparing, and Storage of Food Products.
